Compensation

At S&C, we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members, with a commitment to transparency in our pay practices. The estimated hourly base pay rate for this position is $26. This role is also eligible for S&C’s annual short-term incentive bonus, subject to eligibility criteria.

Join Our Team as an Intermediate Assembler!

Are you passionate about Assembly ? S&C Electric Company is seeking a dynamic individual to coordinate our assembly function. As an assembler, you’ll be crucial in ensuring smooth operations and supporting our diverse team.In this job you will assemble Mark V, TR-II, ScadaMate, or Vista Switches. You will work in a production environment, engage in continuous production activity, must meet requirements within time constraints and you will be held accountable for the quality of your work. Tasks require a mechanical assembly aptitude, an above average degree of eye-hand coordination, manual dexterity, and the use of both hands and arms on a repetitive basis for a full range of motion. You will frequently use hand and power tools, working while standing on the floor and occasionally on a ladder or manlift.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assembling Mark V circuit-switchers at one of several stations, ranging in size from 6’ x 10’ x 10’ to 15’ x 15’ x 15’.
• Assembling TR-II switches, ranging in size up to 5’ x 1’ x 1’ to 11’x 1’ x 1’.
• Identifying, transporting, installing, mounting and bolting all switch components (ranging from 5 lbs. to over 100 lbs. with assistance). Some judgment is required to assemble and make simple adjustments.
• Performing mechanical inspection using torque wrenches, screwdriver and tape measure, and electrical inspection using a test console.
• Using simple material handling equipment, hand tools, power tools, simple gauges and instruments, and overhead cranes

Education:

• High school diploma or GED required

What you’ll Need To Succeed:

• Proficient in reading blueprints
• Testing knowledge of electrical switching e.g. relays, contactors and circuit breakers.
• Demonstrate the skills to use air impact tools and other hand-held tools.
• Ability to use shop math and measuring tools such as tape measures.
• Ability to follow specific instructions and procedures.
• Demonstrate knowledge of mechanical assembly operations preferred.
• Manufacturing assembly experience.
• Soldering experience preferred.

Physical demands:

• Standing: All tasks are performed in a standing position with intermittent walking.
• Lifting: Frequent lifting of items ranging in weight from 5 lbs. to 50 lbs.
• Walking: Occasional walking moderate distances (less than 1/8 mile).
• Carrying: Frequent carrying of items ranging in weight from 5 lbs. to 25 lbs.
• Pushing: Occasional pushing of motorized material handling carts with loaded weights up to 1000 lbs.
• Pulling: Occasional pulling of motorized material handling carts with loaded weights up to 1000 lbs.
• Bending: Frequent bending and crouching to safely lift parts of various sizes and shapes.
• Reaching: Continuous full range of motion from above the shoulders to below the knees.
• Handling: Continuous handling of parts ranging in weight from 5 lbs. to 50 lbs. Other: Respirator certification required.
