About Us:

Small State Provisions is an award-winning, values-driven bakery focused on naturally leavened breads, thoughtful prepared foods, and a welcoming customer experience. With locations in Avon and West Hartford, we pride ourselves on creating a space where kindness, hustle, and hospitality come together.

We’re looking for a  friendly, detail-oriented FULL TIME Barista to join our Avon front-of-house team. You’ll help us deliver great coffee, warm service, and an experience that reflects our commitment to quality and community.

What You’ll Do:

• Prepare and serve espresso drinks, drip coffee, and teas with consistency and care
• Provide warm, informed, and efficient service to every customer
• Keep the coffee bar, pastry case, and FOH space clean, stocked, and organized
• Educate guests about our offerings and answer product questions
• Communicate clearly with team members in both FOH and kitchen
• Handle transactions accurately using our POS system
• Jump in where needed to support the full team

You’re a Good Fit If You:

• Have previous café, barista, or customer service experience (but we’re open to training the right person)
• Love working with people and creating great guest experiences
• Are a strong communicator and team player
• Are reliable, calm under pressure, and pay close attention to details
• Care about good coffee, beautiful food, and intentional hospitality

Bonus Points If You:

• Have experience dialing in espresso or working with a manual machine
• Are familiar with Square POS
• Have interest in local food, artisan baking, or specialty coffee culture

Qualifications:

• Able to stand for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours)
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Available for early mornings and weekends

Schedule:

Full-Time, 35-40 hours per week. Weekend availability required.
