Job Description At World View we are looking to add an Aerospace and Defense Buyer to our Supply Chain team. You will be working on procurement, supplier management, contracts, and negotiations in a fast-paced cross-functional environment. You will play a key role in supporting our efforts as we expand our Remote Sensing initiatives.
Role Responsibilities - Develop and issue Requests for Quotations and Proposals
- Procure raw materials, parts, assemblies, equipment, supplies, and services at the best total cost of acquisition for the company
- Identify and capture saving opportunities
- Monitor supplier performance with KPIs and coordinate with other departments to develop suppliers as needed
- Review open order status, and incorporate changes as they occur
- Continuously improve lead-times and smooth material flow
- Establish strong relationships with key suppliers
- Act as a value-added intermediary between suppliers and internal customers to resolve economical, quality, design, manufacturing, and schedule issues or risks
- Communicate priorities and schedule changes to suppliers as needed to support changes in production requirements
- Actively contribute to the Supply Chain plan execution and goals achievement
- Actively contribute to the development and execution of sourcing strategies for existing and new products
- Proactively track, report and provide updates to management on critical supply issues and risks
Resolve supplier billing and payment issues in cooperation with Account Payables
All other duties as assigned
Qualifications 3+ years of Procurement experience, preferably in Aerospace and/or Defense
- Demonstrated ability to work in cross functional settings with Engineering, Manufacturing, Programs, Finance, and Quality
- General knowledge of FAR/DFARS Government Procurement regulation
- General knowledge of AS9100D Requirements
