Job Title: Carpenter

Location: Flint, MI

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter for a fulltime role. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing structures and fixtures, performing repairs, and ensuring the quality and safety of all wooden constructions. This role requires effective teamwork and communication skills to support our mission of maintaining high standards in our facilities. This role requires a strong electrical background.

Core Responsibilities:

• Install structures and fixtures according to provided specifications, ensuring all frameworks are correctly positioned.
• Measure, cut, and shape materials such as wood, plastic, and fiberglass to construct frameworks, including wall studs and doorframes.
• Repair and maintain wooden structures, including windows, frames, and flooring.
• Inspect buildings and wooden structures to identify repair needs, communicating findings to the lead carpenter.
• Perform maintenance tasks, including repairing weather stripping and managing interior and exterior building upkeep.
• Install siding and drywall, ensuring that scaffolding is safely erected and secure.
• Utilize a variety of hand and power tools for cutting and shaping materials, placing them accurately in designated areas.
• Construct countertops, fabricate cabinets, and install metal doors and jambs.
• Execute interior renovations through repair and maintenance of furniture and wooden frameworks.

Teamwork & Communication:

• Foster a positive and open relationship with all management and staff.
• Advocate for the rights of all residents.
• Complete additional tasks as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.

Qualifications:

• Strong electrical background
• Proven experience in carpentry or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques and tools.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
