The Role

We're hiring a CAS Practice Manager to lead a team of 12-15 accounting professionals serving 20+ construction clients. You'll own your portfolio's P&L, revenue targets, utilization, pricing, and margins, while building the kind of client relationships that drive retention and growth.

This is a leadership role, not a senior accountant role. You'll inherit clients post-implementation and be responsible for service delivery, team development, and profitability. What You'll Do

  • Lead and develop a team of 12-15 across multiple skill levels
  • Own P&L for a portfolio of 20+ construction clients
  • Oversee monthly close, reporting, and service quality across all engagements
  • Serve as the primary relationship owner and escalation point for your clients
  • Manage capacity planning, utilization, and workload distribution
  • Drive process improvements and standardization
  • Collaborate with partners on pricing, retention strategy, and service expansion

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • 5+ years managing accounting teams in a multi-client CAS or outsourced accounting environment
  • Direct P&L responsibility for a client portfolio (not just cost center management)
  • Strong hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online and Desktop (ProAdvisor 2 Preferred)
  • Proven ability to build lasting client relationships and drive retention
  • Track record of developing and retaining accounting talent
  • Strong client relationship management skills with ability to build trust and drive retention
  • Experience managing teams of 5+ people across multiple skill levels
  • Deep understanding of month-end close processes, financial reporting, and accounting operations
  • Exceptional leadership and team development capabilities

Nice to Haves

  • Construction accounting experience (job costing, WIP, AIA billing), we can teach this
  • Experience with Sage 300 CRE, Foundation, ViewPoint Vista, ViewPoint Spectrum
  • Familiarity with construction software platforms (Procore, Knowify, Bill.com, Ramp, Adaptive)
  • Experience with practice management tools and team collaboration platforms
  • Previous experience transitioning clients from implementation to maintenance phases

Benefits

  • Compensation: $110K–$130K base
  • Location: 100% Remote (W2 only, no contractors)
