Cloud Database Administrator

Required Clearance: TS/SCI with Polygraph

Salary Range: $103,900 - $126,000 per year

OTA is seeking a Cloud Database Administrator to manage, administer, and optimize database systems within cloud and hybrid cloud environments. This role is integral to the design, implementation, and maintenance of secure, scalable, and efficient database solutions critical for mission success in a highly secure government setting.

You’ll work closely with system architects and development teams to align database solutions with application goals and security requirements. THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON CONTRACT AWARD.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain cloud-based and hybrid database environments, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security.
• Design, implement, and manage database migration strategies, including structured planning and execution checklists to ensure smooth transitions.
• Optimize database configurations, perform routine database tuning, monitor performance metrics, and proactively resolve performance bottlenecks and issues.
• Ensure robust data security practices, including compliance with RMF, STIG, and other relevant DoD security standards.
• Collaborate closely with Cloud Architects, Engineers, Developers, and Security Analysts to implement efficient and secure database solutions aligned with architectural and operational requirements.
• Conduct regular backup, recovery, disaster recovery planning, and continuity procedures for database systems.
• Document database infrastructure, configurations, processes, and procedures comprehensively.

Required Qualifications

• TS/SCI with Polygraph
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum of three years of experience in database administration within cloud (AWS/Azure) and hybrid cloud environments.
• Demonstrated experience with relational database systems (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., DynamoDB, MongoDB).
• Proficiency in SQL query optimization, schema design, database monitoring tools, and data migration tools and strategies.
