Job Description

We are looking for awesome Cooks (w/ experience) to interact and provide proper service etiquette to guests and to assist in the preparation of delicious dishes in the kitchen if needed. You’ll perform routine dining room and kitchen tasks such as setting up workstations and ingredients, so that food can be prepared according to recipes. You will be professional and flexible with the ability to follow instructions and guidelines, as well as all health and safety rules in the kitchen and working areas.

The ideal candidate will also be able to function in a fast-paced, busy environment as a part of a team. Applicants should be hard-working, fast on their feet, coachable, quality-oriented, and willing to learn. A positive attitude, with the ability to maintain focus and effective communication skills. Ideal candidate has open availability with RELIABLE transportation and a working cellphone at all times. MUST have HEP A verification ready. 

Responsibilities 

  1. Arrive to site on time and ready to work 
  2. Provide excellent guest service at all times 
  3. Follow the prep list created by chefs to plan duties 
  4. Ability to multitask 
  5. Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash etc. Ensure all food and other items are stored properly 
  6. Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines 
  7. Perform other kitchen duties as assigned 
  8. Qualified for general prep work, including the following:

Deli: Able to assemble sandwiches & salads 

Salad bar: Able to put out salad bar mise en place 

Pantry: Able to do cold prep 

Bakery: Able to assemble desserts and baked goods 

  1. Able to prepare food items for retail food service 

Skills 

  1. Proven experience in the culinary field 
  2. Adequate knife skills 
  3. Knowledge of health and safety rules 
  4. A team player with good communication skills 
  5. Patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure 
  6. Qualified for general prep work, including the following:
  7. Deli: Able to assemble sandwiches & salads 
  8. Salad bar: Able to put out salad bar mise en place 
  9. Pantry: Able to do cold prep 
  10. Bakery: Able to assemble desserts and baked goods 
  11. Able to prepare food items for retail food service 
  12. Very good physical condition and endurance 

Requirements 

  1. Have worked as a professional food service worker or prep cook (not including fast food)
  2. Up to date Hepatitis A vaccinations records 
  3. Valid Driver's License and willing to travel to work in the St. Louis metro area. 
  4. Must be at least 18 years old
