Job Summary:


The Database Administrator is responsible for the creation of functional and technical specifications for database development, analyzing requirements, and assisting the project team in solution design, technical design, implementation, and support. This role involves working with Azure, SQL, and Oracle database systems, ensuring data integrity, optimizing performance, and providing knowledge transfer to team members.

Responsibilities:


- Creating functional and technical specifications for database development.
- Analyzing requirements and assisting the project team in solution, technical design, implementation, and support.
- Designing, implementing, and completing relevant documentation in alignment with standards.
- Undertaking special assignments/sub-projects as assigned.
- Conducting, assessing, evaluating, and documenting stakeholder interests and business needs.
- Creating and validating business scenarios and use cases.
- Producing visual depictions of use cases and process flows.
- Creating, reviewing, and supporting Enterprise Architecture artifacts.
- Creating system and user interface design and modifications.
- Reviewing test scenarios to ensure requirements are met.
- Supporting the testing team during system and UAT testing.
- Participating in Knowledge transfer.
- Administering database management systems (i.e. ORACLE, Exadata, Microsoft SQL Server, Azure etc.) for business intelligence and analytics applications.
- Creating, testing, and implementing safeguards to maintain data integrity and protect against unauthorized access.
- Assisting with SQL optimization and code reviews.
- Developing and interpreting complex SQL queries.
- Monitoring, optimizing, and performance tuning using manual or automated tools.
- Troubleshooting and resolving technical problems within a team environment.
- Preparing operational documentation (build guides, procedures, etc).
