Introduction to Role:
We are seeking a visionary and experienced Director to lead and transform our Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) capabilities within the Biologics Engineering department at AstraZeneca. This key leadership position will drive the implementation of cutting-edge NGS technologies, automation processes, and data analysis workflows specifically tailored for antibody discovery and engineering as well as support Therapeutics Areas in R&D across our global organization.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of both NGS technologies and the needs of teams focusing on Artificial Intelligence (AI). A critical aspect of this role is ensuring that the data generated from NGS processes are optimized to feed into AI pipelines, fostering a synergistic relationship between NGS and AI-driven drug discovery and development.

The annual base pay for this position ranges from $172,672.00 - $259,008.00. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles), to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles), and commission payment eligibility (sales roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
