Job Description

Dishwasher (Opening Team)

Location: St. Petersburg, FL

Type: Part Time / Full Time

Compensation: $16/hour

Welcome to St. Pete Athletic.

We’re not just launching a club—we’re building a community, a standard, and a vibe. Think urban country club. St. Pete Athletic is where sport, hospitality, and social energy collide. With 14 pickleball courts, 2 padel courts, dedicated table tennis spaces, a full-service restaurant and bar, and amenities ranging from coworking to wellness to a garden oasis—it’s a place to play, connect, and belong.

But our real secret? Hospitality. The kind you feel, not just see. We believe in creating moments that surprise and delight. And we’re looking for Dishwashers who live and breathe that philosophy.

The Opportunity

As a Dishwasher at St. Pete Athletic, you are the foundation of a seamless culinary operation. By ensuring every plate, glass, utensil, and piece of cookware is immaculately cleaned, sanitized, and ready for use, you’ll support chefs, servers, and bartenders in delivering a flawless guest experience.

This is a role for someone reliable, fast-paced, and committed to cleanliness—someone who understands that behind every elevated dining moment is a perfectly polished plate.

Key Responsibilities

Dish & Equipment Care

  • Collect and sort used kitchenware, scrape, stack, and pre-rinse before machine or hand washing.
  • Operate dishwashing machines, ensuring proper loading, detergent levels, temperature, and cycle performance.
  • Hand-wash delicate china, stemware, wooden boards, and large cookware to preserve quality.
  • Organize and store cleaned items in designated areas for quick access during service.
  • Perform routine cleaning, descaling, and maintenance of dishwashing equipment.

Sanitation & Cleanliness

  • Sanitize kitchen surfaces, sinks, counters, and equipment regularly throughout each shift.
  • Empty trash bins, clean garbage cans, and handle waste disposal in compliance with sanitation protocols.
  • Participate in scheduled deep cleaning (hoods, drains, floors, equipment) to maintain a spotless kitchen.
  • Ensure all cleaning tasks meet HACCP and OSHA standards.

Operational Support

  • Assist chefs and line cooks by retrieving cookware and utensils during peak service.
  • Support event preparation by polishing, counting, and staging serviceware for banquets and private functions.
  • Assist with receiving, unpacking, and properly storing deliveries using FIFO rotation standards.
  • Complete opening and closing duties, including restocking supplies, side work, and cleanliness checks.

Guest & Team Interaction

  • Maintain a professional, approachable demeanor when in guest-facing areas.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen and service staff to prioritize urgent cleaning or restocking needs.
  • Alert management immediately to equipment issues, supply shortages, or safety concerns.
  • Collaborate with teammates to ensure smooth operations, offering proactive support during peak times.

Professional Standards & Safety

  • Arrive on time in a clean uniform and non-slip shoes, ready to work scheduled shifts including evenings and weekends.
  • Adhere strictly to safety procedures when handling detergents, hot water, and protective gear.
  • Remain calm, courteous, and solution-focused in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment.
  • Follow emergency response protocols, assisting with guest or staff safety as directed.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a hot, humid environment.

Who You Are

  • You take pride in providing behind-the-scenes support that keeps hospitality running smoothly.
  • You’re reliable, fast, and detail-focused.
  • You’re adaptable and collaborative, willing to jump in wherever needed.
  • You understand that spotless cleanliness is essential to exceptional hospitality.
  • You thrive in high-energy environments and take ownership of your role.

Our Promise to You

At St. Pete Athletic, we want this to be one of the best jobs you’ve ever had. That means:

  • A supportive team culture built on kindness, excellence, and joy.
  • Opportunities to learn across multiple areas of hospitality.
  • The chance to be part of a community that values connection as much as service.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $16/hour.
  • Opportunity to enroll in company health insurance plans.
  • Flexible scheduling (part-time or full-time).
  • Opportunities for advancement in an opening club.
  • Employee discount for club membership (includes F&B and retail preferred pricing).

Sound Like You? Let’s Talk.

If you’re ready to join the opening team that’s setting a new bar for hospitality in Tampa Bay, we’d love to meet you.

Hiring Process:

  • After applying on our website, check your messages for a link to complete our required pre-interview questions.
