Job Description

Position Overview: 

Seeking a highly experienced freight broker to help launch a 3PL operation. This is not a back-office role—this is full-cycle brokerage leadership with the ability to shape strategy, process, and future growth. 

Primary Responsibilities: 

• Act as lead liaison between shippers and carriers 

• Book and manage loads using both internal freight and newly sourced customers 

• Build relationships, manage capacity, and maintain margin discipline 

• Establish operational best practices and identify future hires as the business scales 

Requirements

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Minimum 5 years of brokerage experience with a proven network 

• Background in carrier management, dispatching, and customer acquisition 

• Experience in launching or scaling a logistics operation is a plus 

• Proven leadership experience 

Additional Skills & Competencies: 

• Extensive knowledge of supply chain management 

• Familiarity with logistics software, CRM systems, and spreadsheets 

• Strong problem-solving abilities to address issues before, during, and after shipments 

• Skilled in negotiating optimal freight rates 

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with carriers and customers alike 

• Networking ability to build and maintain strong industry relationships 

• Proven sales track record to close deals and grow revenue
