Job Description Junior Infrastructure Specialist
We are a rapidly growing, multi-state law firm headquartered in Plano, TX, and we are seeking a Junior Infrastructure Specialist to support and maintain our IT infrastructure. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career to gain hands-on experience with enterprise technologies while working alongside experienced engineers.
The Junior Infrastructure Specialist will assist with maintaining virtualized environments, supporting storage and network infrastructure, and helping ensure the stability and security of our systems.
Key ResponsibilitiesVMware Virtualization & VDI
Assist with day-to-day administration of VMware ESXi environments.
Support VMware Horizon VDI deployments, including user access and basic troubleshooting.
Help monitor and maintain virtual networking components.
Storage Solutions
Provide support in maintaining Storage Area Networks (SAN/VSAN).
Assist with performance monitoring and integration between storage and VMware environments.
Network Infrastructure & Security
Support LAN/WAN connectivity under the guidance of senior team members.
Assist with secure remote access solutions (VPNs, MFA).
Help monitor network performance and uptime.
Physical Infrastructure & Documentation
Maintain organized racks and cabling for network/server hardware.
Update and maintain technical documentation, diagrams, and procedures.
Support & Troubleshooting
Provide first-line and escalation support for virtualization and infrastructure issues.
Collaborate with senior engineers to resolve complex problems.
Familiarity with VMware, VDI, or virtualization technologies (academic, internship, or professional exposure).
Basic understanding of networking concepts (LAN/WAN, VLANs, VPN).
Exposure to storage systems (SAN/VSAN) is a plus.
Interest in learning Juniper, Palo Alto, or other enterprise networking technologies.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a willingness to learn.
This role requires 100% on-site work in Plano, TX.
Some after-hours availability may be required for maintenance and support.
