Lead Workday Core HCM Consultant
Location: Remote (U.S.)
Employment Type: Full-Time / Contract
Role Overview
As our Lead Core HCM Consultant, you’ll architect and drive end-to-end Workday HCM implementations—from requirements through go-live and hypercare. You’ll mentor junior consultants, manage stakeholder expectations, and ensure best-practice configuration across Staffing, Compensation, Performance, Talent, and Core HR modules.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead 3+ complete Workday HCM implementations, owning design workshops, configuration, testing, cut-over, and post-go-live support
- Translate business requirements into optimal HCM framework designs (Organization Structures, Job Catalog, Security, Business Processes)
- Build and review Config Worksheets, Business Process Maps, and Integration Requirements with functional and technical teams
- Oversee unit, integration, and user-acceptance testing; drive issue resolution in partnership with QA and development
- Conduct knowledge-transfer sessions and develop runbooks, training materials, and governance documentation
- Provide on-going optimization recommendations—leveraging Core HCM releases and new feature roll-outs
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years’ Workday HCM consulting experience, with at least three full-cycle deployments
- Active Workday Core HCM Certification (must be transferable)
- Proven ability to manage client relationships and lead remote teams
- Strong understanding of global HCM processes, data model, and security framework
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Workday Prism Reporting and Calculated Fields
- Background in change-management and adoption strategies
