A Paint Finisher is responsible for preparing, coating, and finishing surfaces to meet quality standards in manufacturing, automotive, construction, or industrial environments. This role ensures that all painted products have a smooth, even, and durable finish while following safety procedures, production schedules, and company specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Water Base Conversion
Prepare surfaces by sanding, cleaning, masking, and priming to ensure proper paint adhesion.
Mix and match paints, stains, and coatings to meet color and texture specifications.
Apply paint using spray guns, rollers, brushes, or automated equipment.
Inspect finished surfaces for defects such as runs, sags, or uneven coverage and correct them as needed.
Perform touch-ups, refinishing, and rework to maintain quality standards.
Maintain equipment such as spray guns, booths, filters, and ventilation systems.
Follow safety guidelines, including proper handling of chemicals, PPE use, and maintaining a clean work area.
Record production data, materials used, and quality inspection results.
Work with supervisors and production staff to meet deadlines and ensure consistency across finished parts.
Skills & Qualifications:
Experience with industrial painting, automotive refinishing, or surface finishing.
Knowledge of different paint types, coatings, and preparation methods.
Strong attention to detail and ability to identify surface defects.
Ability to read work orders, blueprints, and specifications.
Familiarity with spray equipment, sanding tools, and mixing systems.
Ability to lift materials and stand for long periods.
Understanding of OSHA safety guidelines and proper chemical handling.
