AVAILABLE POSITION:

Payroll Specialist (Contract Basis or Part Time) | Wichita, KS (Preference In-Person, Remote Eligible)

COMPENSATION: Approximately $25 per hour

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

• Process payroll for both W-2 employees and 1099 contractors across multiple states using QuickBooks Online Payroll and ADP, ensuring accurate and timely payments.
• Reconcile payroll reports and time records , identifying and correcting any discrepancies in hours, rates, or tax withholdings.
• Prepare and file payroll tax forms (including Forms 941, 940, W-2, W-3, and 1099s), ensuring full compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Generate detailed payroll reports for internal review, confirming proper deductions, benefits, and contractor classification.
• Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in handling sensitive employee data while responding promptly to payroll-related inquiries or issues.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:

Must Have Qualifications: 

• 1+ years of experience with QuickBooks Payroll and/or ADP payroll software
• Associate's Degree or higher
• Work experience in using complex logic and problem-solving skills
• Above average ability to work with numbers and basic finance calculations
• Advanced computer experience - ability to multitask on dual monitors
• Ability to assist in developing payroll processes
• Adaptable to a flexible, fast-changing industry
• Able to adhere to multi-state requirements for payroll and taxes (for remote employees)
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
• Ability to take accountability for actions and to respond quickly

Nice to Have Qualifications:  

• Military experience or close relation to a military member
