Job Description

Insero Talent Solutions has partnered with a growing national construction company in Rochester, NY to recruit a Project Manager.

Our client provides end-to-end project management with a strong customer base throughout the US, including buildouts, remodeling, and landlord & developers and they bring precision, expertise and commitment to excellent to every project.

The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. This role involves controlling job costs and pricing, hiring contractors and vendors, and managing project schedules.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Control and understand job costs and pricing.
  • Approve payments according to the project schedule.
  • Hire all contractors and vendors.
  • Write purchase order scopes and schedules.
  • Manage change orders and requests for information (RFI), focusing on cost and scope.
  • Create and control the project schedule, presenting it to clients and contractors.
  • Develop and manage the Critical Path Method (CPM) schedule.
  • Ensure all project close-out activities are completed.
  • Understand and interpret drawings and specifications.
  • Ensure all required inspections are completed and certificates of occupancy (C of O) are obtained.
  • Locate and manage subcontractors as needed.
  • Maintain effective communication with lead contractors, clients, and design teams.
  • Report on project progress to the office and clients.
  • Facilitate technical conversations with clients, lead contractors, and subcontractors.

Education and Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager in construction.
  • 5+ years of experience is highly preferred, general contracting and/or experience with remodels and buildouts is desired.
  • Strong understanding of job costing, pricing, and budget control.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Proficient in project management software and tools.
