Payroll Specialist Join our dynamic team as a Payroll Specialist, where you'll play a strategic role in managing payroll operations for over 10,000 employees across all 50 states. This position ensures the accurate and compliant processing of employee data in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on data integrity, SOX compliance, and seamless integration with third-party systems. Key Responsibilities + Support biweekly (hourly) and semi-monthly (salaried) payroll cycles for 10,000+ employees, including cross-training to ensure coverage and continuity. + Assist in testing and implementing the UltiPro Payroll system to enhance payroll processing efficiency. + Provide backup support for time and attendance functions using UltiPro Time and Attendance (UTA). + Drive timely timecard approvals by managers and generate compliance reports for leadership. + Serve as the first point of contact for payroll inquiries via ServiceNow, resolving employee questions and processing errors. + Reconcile and transfer data to support funding for employee benefits including 401(k), HSA, FSA, and other vendor-managed programs. + Process Verification of Employment (VOE) requests and contribute to the development of this function. + Ensure adherence to internal controls, SOX requirements, and federal/state payroll regulations. + Maintain accurate and compliant documentation in accordance with company policies and legal standards. + Perform additional duties as assigned to support the payroll department. Qualifications + Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll, timekeeping, or a related field. + Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience. + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills across all organizational levels. + Proven ability to meet deadlines and follow through on tasks and issues. + Experience with Ultimate Software (UltiPro) is a plus. + Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Experience Level Intermediate Level Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Salt Lake City, UT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
