Overview

We are conducting a search for a Mexico-based Senior UI Designer to join product team at IXL Learning in San Mateo, CA. This position is a long-term contract with a rapidly growing American education technology company working remotely from home.

IXL Learning’s creative, elegant user interfaces excite and motivate students around the globe every day. Members of our UI team design clean, engaging visual experiences that make online learning both intuitive and fun. We are looking for an artistic, innovative, and passionate Senior User Interface Designer to join our team in a leadership role.

Responsibilities

• Create visual experiences for customer-facing web, mobile and tablet-based applications
• Transform wireframes into original, creative mock-ups
• Inspire users with attractive, compelling designs while maintaining visual consistency and brand identity
• Provide artistic direction and feedback on UI team projects
• Communicate with product team members to understand and interpret project requirement
• Enhance existing interfaces with new layouts, photos, graphics, and content
• Collaborate with the marketing team to design e-mails, promotions, online ads, and marketing collateral

Qualifications

• 4-10 years experience in visual user interface design
• Ability to create clean, clutter-free, visually consistent designs
• In-depth knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, and Flash
• Understanding and appreciation of standard user interface design concepts and processes
• Actively participate in concept development and design ideation as part of a small team.
• Ability to effectively communicate visually, verbally, and in writing
• Meticulous attention to detail and exceptional organization skills
• Proven ability to manage multiple design requests in a timely fashion
• Passion for outstanding, elegant design
• Experience in print design is a plus
