Responsibilities:

• Decontaminate, inspect, and assemble surgical instruments and trays.
• Operate sterilizers, washers, and other processing equipment according to protocols.
• Verify functionality and cleanliness of instruments before packaging.
• Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles and equipment maintenance.
• Prepare and label sterile supplies and ensure proper storage.
• Follow infection control and safety guidelines to prevent contamination.
• Collaborate with surgical and nursing staff to meet instrument and supply needs.
• Report damaged or missing instruments promptly.
• Participate in quality assurance activities and equipment monitoring.

Qualifications:

• Completion of an accredited Sterile Processing or Central Service Technician program preferred.
• Certification (CRCST, CBSPD, or equivalent) preferred or required per facility policy.
• Previous experience in sterile processing or healthcare setting desirable.
