Treasury Analyst (Analyst) Location Kansas City, MO (CBD Downtown area) :

Pay,Benefits, & Work Schedule

Full-time position available with the Finance Department, Treasury Division located at 414 East 12th Street Salary Range: $4,619-$6,928/month Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Application Deadline Date: January 22, 2024

Responsibilities

  • Prepares bank/cash reconciliations, including the month end closing activities for the Cash Management module of Peoplesoft and all applicable journal entries.
  • Develops and maintains Peoplesoft queries to analyze transaction detail for deposits and bank reconciliation.
  • Assists the Peoplesoft Financial Support Service team with issues related to the Cash Management and Deal Management modules.
  • Serves as the Co-P-Card Administrator.
  • Prepares monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Assists with periodic review of all cash taking locations within the City for compliance with applicable ordinances, policies, & procedures.
  • Performs special projects related to PeopleSoft updates/upgrades.
  • Prepares presentations, analyses, and policies, as well as desk manuals.
  • Prepares written reports of findings and recommendations.
  • Assists with preparation of audit schedules.
  • Serves as a backup to the Accountant and Head Cashier positions in the Cash Management Section.
  • Initiates wire transfers, backup for positive pay, backup approver for ACH.
  • Maintains an ancillary bank account.
  • Prepares analysis of Trustee held investments and cash positions.
  • Assists Cash Operations Manager on an as needed basis.
  • Assists the Manager of Investments and Cash on an as needed basis.

Qualifications

REQUIRES an accredited Master's degree in public or business administration, urban or regional planning, economics, organizational psychology/development, project management, or geography; OR an accredited Bachelor's degree and 1 year of professional experience in public or business administration, corporate/municipal finance, research, accounting, planning, project/program management or geographical information system analytics. Preference given to those with experience in cash handling or banking-related environment, basic knowledge of the financial market, or experience in PeopleSoft.

For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.

Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.

If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
