Job Title: Welding Engineer
Job Description
This position is part of the xEV Regional PE group for Electric Vehicle products, focusing on Motor programs. The Welding Engineer will develop and implement mass production welding operations, leading efforts to find new, cost-effective solutions for welding in automotive motor manufacturing. The role involves working with project management to support installations, new launches, and special projects, specifically in robotic welding.
Responsibilities
Establish equipment, processes, and quotations for Motor programs.
Lead development and implementation of mass production welding operations.
Identify synergy potentials and best practices across programs to drive cost-effective solutions.
Support project management for installations, new launches, and special/capital projects.
Reduce cycle times and provide line-side support.
Design and develop automated weld systems.
Work on new projects and transition to new program launches.
Essential Skills
Expertise in TIG welding.
Experience with different materials: Stainless Steel, Aluminum, Copper.
5+ years of manufacturing experience.
Engineering Degree.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Knowledge of robotics is a plus.
Experience with Panasonic Welding Robots.
Understanding of laser welding.
Proficient in weld inspection using 2D/3D camera systems (Keyence vision systems).
Work Environment
The role requires spending 80% of the time on the floor and 20% in the office, working within an automated welding environment. Typical working hours are Monday to Friday, with occasional support required on nights and weekends, especially during launches. The position involves sitting or standing for long periods and may require up to 30% domestic and international travel as needed.

The pay range for this position is $105000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
