About the Role:

Cypris is looking for a detail-oriented and curious Associate Research Analyst to join our growing Research Services team. The Associate Research Analyst is an early-career position for professionals who show potential and interest in technical and industry research. The role serves as a launchpad toward autonomous project ownership within Cypris’ Research Services team. You will support senior analysts on custom engagements, develop foundational research skills, and begin contributing discrete deliverables that help clients understand emerging technologies and competitive landscapes. We operate on a deliverable-first model—when and where you work is secondary to meeting deadlines and maintaining research excellence.

In this role, you will: 

• Gather and organize data from patents, scientific papers, market filings, product spec sheets, and company datasets to feed higher-level analyses.
• Draft custom research reports under the guidance of senior analysts.
• Shadow client calls, capturing structured notes and learning best-practice communication and responsiveness.
• Own smaller projects, gaining experience in end-to-end project execution.
• Engage in ongoing training and mentorship, actively seeking guidance while building autonomy in core research functions.

Requirements

A Key Candidate Will Have: 

• 1-3 years of experience in a research, strategy, consulting, or analyst role—or relevant internships/coursework demonstrating analytical rigor.
• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM, economics, or related analytical discipline.
• Strong analytical mindset and comfort working with both qualitative and quantitative data.
• Clear writing and communication skills—able to distill complex findings into concise prose or slides.
• Working knowledge of Excel/Google Sheets; enthusiasm for learning new analytic tools (SQL or Python a plus).
• Collaborative, proactive attitude with strong attention to detail.
• An eagerness to grow their skillsets and learn in a fast-paced startup environment.

What does the interview process look like?

The process depends on the role. For all positions, we like to start with a quick intro call just to make sure we're aligned.

From there, we typically do a longer (45min) call with one of our team members that can appropriately vet your skills & "speak your language" - on the engineering side, this might mean some technical questions, while on the sales side we ask you to build a quick presentation about yourself.
