Laboratory Manager – Wooster, OH
Lighthouse Lab Services is excited to partner with a small community hospital located in Wooster, OH that is seeking a Laboratory Manager to oversee daily operations within their CLIA-certified clinical laboratory.
Position Summary:
The Laboratory Manager will be responsible for the overall management of the laboratory, including supervising staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining quality standards, and supporting the hospital’s mission of delivering excellent patient care. This position requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and the ability to work collaboratively with medical staff, administrators, and external regulatory agencies.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily operations of the clinical laboratory to ensure timely and accurate testing.
Hire, train, schedule, and supervise laboratory staff.
Maintain compliance with CLIA, CAP, Joint Commission, and state regulations.
Develop, implement, and monitor laboratory policies and procedures.
Manage quality assurance, quality control, and proficiency testing programs.
Prepare and manage the laboratory budget, including supplies and equipment.
Collaborate with medical and administrative leadership on laboratory initiatives and improvements.
Serve as the primary contact during inspections and audits.
Stay current on advances in laboratory medicine and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field (required).
ASCP or equivalent certification (required).
Minimum of 5 years of clinical laboratory experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of CLIA and other regulatory standards.
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Schedule & Compensation:
Full-time, day shift
Salary range: $85,000 – $105,000/year , commensurate with experience
