Requirements

• Lead the preparation of detailed and accurate electrical estimates for commercial, industrial, institutional, and infrastructure projects.
  

• Review bid documents, drawings, and specifications to fully understand project scope and requirements.
  

• Perform comprehensive material and labor take-offs , identify cost-saving opportunities, and assess potential risks.
  

• Collaborate with operations, project management, and executive teams to develop competitive bid strategies.
  

• Manage the full bidding process including subcontractor outreach, scope review, and bid leveling.
  

• Analyze historical data, market trends, and vendor pricing to maintain competitive, accurate estimates.
  

• Participate in pre-bid meetings, site walks, and post-bid reviews to ensure clear communication and strategy alignment.
  

• Support value engineering initiatives to enhance project efficiency and profitability.
  

• Maintain and update estimating databases, cost libraries, and unit pricing to reflect current market conditions.
  

• Mentor junior estimators, providing guidance, feedback, and training as needed.
  

QUALIFICATIONS

• 7+ years of electrical estimating experience , with a strong background in commercial and industrial projects.
  

• Proven track record estimating projects ranging from mid-size builds to large, complex contracts .
  

• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, construction methods, and NEC/NFPA codes.
  

• Proficiency with electrical estimating software (e.g., Accubid, ConEst, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
  

• Excellent blueprint reading and analytical skills.
  

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal teams, vendors, and clients.
  

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  

• Experience in the Long Island / NYC market is highly preferred.
