Samsung is hosting its first Galaxy Unpacked event of 2026 today, where it is set to unveil all three smartphones in the Galaxy S26 series. The new lineup is expected to directly compete with Apple’s iPhone 17 series, which debuted in September last year. The launch event marks Samsung’s biggest flagship announcement of the year.

2. Where to Watch Galaxy Unpacked 2026

The Galaxy Unpacked 2026 event is being held in San Francisco. Viewers around the world can watch the launch live through Samsung’s official YouTube channel, Samsung Newsroom, and the company’s official website. The event is expected to showcase the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra in detail.

3. AI Takes Centre Stage with Galaxy S26 Series

Samsung has confirmed several AI-focused upgrades for the Galaxy S26 lineup. One of the biggest additions is Perplexity AI, which will be available as a native assistant alongside Bixby and Google’s Gemini. Users will be able to summon Perplexity using the “Hey Plex” hotword, expanding Samsung’s AI assistant ecosystem.

4. Galaxy AI 2.0 and Software Experience

The Galaxy S26 series will debut Galaxy AI 2.0, running on One UI 8.5 based on Android 16. Samsung says the new software brings enhanced on-device intelligence, smarter automation, and deeper AI integration across productivity, photography, and daily tasks.

5. Performance and Processor Expectations

Leaks suggest that the Galaxy S26 Ultra may be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor with “Made for Galaxy” branding. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S26 and S26+ are expected to use the Exynos 2600 chipset in select markets, while others may receive Snapdragon variants.

6. Display and Battery Upgrades

The Galaxy S26 Ultra is tipped to feature a 6.9-inch LTPO AMOLED display and a 5,000mAh battery, similar to last year, but with faster 60W wired charging. Samsung could claim up to 75 percent charge in 30 minutes. The S26+ may retain a 6.7-inch display and 4,900mAh battery, while the standard S26 could get a 6.3-inch QHD+ AMOLED panel and a larger 4,300mAh battery.

7. Galaxy S26 Series Expected Pricing in India

Due to ongoing memory chip shortages, Samsung may slightly increase prices this year. According to leaks, the Galaxy S26 could start at ₹80,999, the Galaxy S26+ at ₹99,999, and the Galaxy S26 Ultra at ₹1,39,999 in India. Final pricing will be confirmed during the launch event.
